2005 Sudbrook School The first school in Sudbrook was built for the children whose parents moved here to work on the new Severn Railway Tunnel. Hence we find lots of strays from all over England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. The admission registers show where the children came from, and, when they left, where they went to. Built to pump water from the Severn Tunnel after a 'great spring' was discovered, it's been in action since 1886... | "...on the very brink of this cliff is an old ruin called Sudbrook Chapel, very picturesque to see..." |
